Janko, a journalist from Germany, learned the ropes at age 13 on Dutch rivers, but soon ran out of water. Before moving to New York as photographer and author in 2006, he explored from Berlin the shores around the Baltic. Once in the US, he raced regularly in New York and New England, and cruised along the Eastern seaboard and offshore over to Bermuda. A Transat is in planning. On the 30'' sloop "Messing About", moored on the Western Long Island Sound, Janko skippers pretty much every drop of local waters from Sheepshead Bay to Block Island.

Matt’s boating experience began on the waters of New England as a child and he has sailed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and Japan. Although he’s sailed in a variety of places, his favorite place, by far, is the New York Harbor and that passion shows.  Matt is a former US Marine Officer and current English teacher in Manhattan.  In addition to teaching sailing and English, Matt delivers boats and captains private charters.  He has a 25’ sloop based in Manhattan.

They say if you can sail in the NY Harbor, you can sail anywhere. I’ve tested that theory out a few times in the Caribbean, Long Island Sound, South Shore - and so far it’s true! I’ve picked up a few skills and gained some credentials along the way, so let’s go out and get you sailing…everywhere!

Heather grew up in upstate New York in a family of lake power-boaters. Watching sailboats always made her wonder how it would be to be on the water and hear nothing but the wind in the sails and the nature.  She recently pursued her interest and after learning how to sail with Sailors NYC, she became an ASA instructor. Heather is currently an accountant for a big real estate developer, but her life dream is to continue to travel the world, cooking, painting, swinging in a hammock under the stars, eating coconuts, jumping off cliffs, and swimming in the sea.
